80 MPs Want Finance Minister Offori Atta sacked.

  The Majority Members of Parliament have expressed their distaste of the service of the finance minister in a notice to the president to fire the finance minister Ken Offori Atta and his team because they have failed Ghanaians. And if the President fails to Honor their request, they will not partake in any business of government by or for the President.  This announcement was made known in to the media in Parliament on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Ghanaian Youth are Lazy. Don’t blame the Government - Kwadwo SafoJnr.

  The CEO of Kantanka Group of companies, Kwadwo Safo Jnr., defines    Ghanaian youth as lazy. “the youth of Ghana have failed to venture into entrepreneurship; especially farming because of laziness.” Mr. Safo made this known to    his 25.5k followers on twiter. He has urged the youth to take full responsibility of thier lives instead of shifting numerous blames on the government.  His comment comes as many Ghanaians have taken to social media to complain about rising cost of living and extremely high inflation in the country. According to Nana Kwadwo Safo Kantanka Junior Farming is the future and the best way to go. He encouraged the youth to fully invest their time and money in farming because it pays well. 

GPRTU to increase fares on Monday October 24.

  Mr Abbas Imoro, The Industrial Relations Officer for The Ghana Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has announced the increment of transport fares which will be effective from Monday, October 24. He disclosed this in a conversation with Accra-Based Citi FM on Friday.  According to Abass imoro, the increment became necessary due to the consistent increments in the prices of petroleum products.  In his words  “ Normally, if we are able to conclude, we will come out on Monday with a percentage of increment. We will give the passengers a few days to adjust themselves to the new prices.” He continued: “We’ve been very considerate. This would have been the third  or fourth adjustment from May.We are all in this country and have seen frequent increments in fuel prices. But we have sacrificed to contain it. But we can no longer bear the cost.” “So we urge passengers to bear with us.”

Liz Truss resigns as UK prime minister after 44 days In Office.

The British Prime Minister Liz Truss has stepped down as prime minister and leader of the Conservative Party in a statement outside Downing Street after six weeks of service, this makes her the shortest-serving prime minister in British history. Liz Truss succeeded Boris Johnson as prime minister on 6 September after defeating Rishi Sunak in the Conservative Party leadership contest and meeting the Queen at Balmoral. She said she was doing so because she could not deliver the mandate on which she was elected as Tory leader. In her words "with a mandate to change this", adding: "We delivered on energy bills." President Akuffo Addo Fires Director General of GES Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa

  The Ghana Education Service (GES) has laid off Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa as its Director General. On Monday, October 17, 2022, Professor Opoku Amankwah received a letter from the office of the president His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa written by Nana Bediatuo Asante who is the secretary to the President.  The letter clarifies that the ministry of Education does not need the service of Prof Opoku Amankwah any longer. “Accordingly, the President of the Republic has instructed that your secondment be terminated forthwith, and you are directed to return to your position at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.” Prof Opoku-Amankwa was chosen as the Director General of the Service on secondment from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in January 2021. Nana Agradaa Granted GH¢50,000 bail but remains in Custody.

  The Originator of the Heaven Way Champion International Ministry at Weija in Accra,    Mrs. Patricia Asiedua well known as ‘Nana Agradaa’, has been granted a ¢50,000 bail with three sureties by Accra circuit court.  Patricia Asiedu charged with one count of charlatanic advertisement and six counts of defrauding by false pretense. However, she boldly pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Unfortunately for her despite the bail, she    will remain in custody. This is because, she is facing charges at a different Circuit Court on one count of charlatanic advertisement and five counts of defrauding by false pretence and has been put behind bars to reappear on October 26, 2022. As part of the bail conditions set by Mr Acquah, the three sureties must be civil servants earning not less than GH¢2,000 monthly. UK finance minister Kwasi Kwarteng has been fired.

  Kwasi Kwarteng has been fired as chancellor three weeks after his mini budget untied    confusion    in the economy.  Kwasi Kwarteng got appointed to the role by the Prime minister of the United Kingdom Liz Truss 6 weeks ago, this makes his term of service a brief one. He is second-shortest serving chancellor after Iain Macleod, who served from 11 November 1965    to 20 June 1970 preceded    by Edward Heath succeeded by Roy Jenkins.  The downfall of Kwasi Kwarteng was set in motion when he declared £45bn in unfunded tax cuts on 23 September mini budget. GRA shuts down branches of China mall for non-Compliance with tax laws.

   The Ghana revenue Authority has shut down four branches of the China Mall Including it ware houses. The Enforcement Officials of GRA disclosed that, this action was necessary after the management Mall    refused to work on it electronic Value added Tax (VAT ) collection system established by the Authority. On October 1, 2022 the GRA rolled out out the e-invoicing system for VAT collectors to 600 large taxpayers that generate more than 90 per cent of  VAT  revenue. Joseph Annan, who is the Accra Area Enforcement Manager    told the Ghana News Agency that the Authority had been engaging management of some selected businesses on how to commence the system but most of them had failed to comply.
