A police officer drowned while chasing illegal miners.

 A police officer whose name is Nuhu Abubakar, lost his dear  life on the mission to arrest illegal miners in River Sui in the Sefwi Bodi District of the Western North Region.



This sad incident occurred on Tuesday September 27. According to the Ghana Police service, The General Corporal  Nuhu Abubakar, was a member of the team on an anti-galamsey operation at Sefwi Amoaya in the district when the unfortunate incident occurred.



There is an investigation ongoing by the Ghana Police Service surrounding the drowning of General Corporal Nuhu Abubakar at Sefwi Amoaya in the Sefwi Bodi District of the Western North Region.


Police reports says;


“The Police have commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning of General Corporal Nuhu Abubakar at Sefwi Amoaya in the Sefwi Bodi District of the Western North Region on September 27, 2022.”


“While investigations continue, the Police Administration wishes to express its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and the Service as a whole.”

  The Embassy of Ghana in Washington D.C resumes work today , Thursday, May 25, 2025 after    a temporary closure ordered by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. The closure, which took effect on Monday, May 26, was influenced by an alleged corruption scandal involving the Embassy’s visa section. Honorable Ablakwa disclosed on his Facebook page that, a local    IT staff member is accused of diverting funds belonging to the Embassy into a personal account.
