Queen Elizabeth II to Be Buried Next to Her Husband Prince Philip
The state burial of Queen Elizabeth II who died on the 8th September 2022, at her Cherished residence Balmoral Castle after an unprecedented reign of 70 years will be held on Monday, September 19,2022.
The Matriarch will be buried besides her husband Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh , who died last year, at the King George VI Memorial Chapel where her parents and sister, Princess Margaret were also laid to rest.
As the Queen is laid to rest, Prince Phillip, who died at age 99 in April 2021, will be moved from the Royal Vault beneath the chapel, where he was temporarily interred, and put beside his wife, according to The Telegraph.
The Queen’s parents, George VI and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, are also buried in the small chapel, and her sister Margaret’s ashes were brought there following her death in 2002. A bank holiday is expected to be declared for the sovereign’s burial in the coming days for the British people to pay their respects.
