  The Embassy of Ghana in Washington D.C resumes work today , Thursday, May 25, 2025 after    a temporary closure ordered by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. The closure, which took effect on Monday, May 26, was influenced by an alleged corruption scandal involving the Embassy’s visa section. Honorable Ablakwa disclosed on his Facebook page that, a local    IT staff member is accused of diverting funds belonging to the Embassy into a personal account. Chairman of Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, has thrown his support behind the Minister’s swift action.   Ghanaian songstress Efya has announced to her fans on social media, the cancellation of “Efya live concert”     citing circumstances beyond her control and also assured ticket holders that refunds are already being processed. In a statement, The artist    promised her fans a comeback, revealing plans for a bigger and better show in 2025. She urged her supporters to stay tuned for what the new year will bring.

Lil Durk whose real name is Durk Devontay Banks — has been arrested in Florida and has been charged for murder-for-hire plot, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. The “All My Life” artist, arrest comes hours after five people were arrested on murder-for-hire charges linked to the artist. As USA Today reported, “prosecutors claim all five people — named Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston — have ties to Banks’ hip-hop group ‘Only The Family.'” Authorities believe their motive was retaliation for the 2020 murder of Chicago rapper King Von. Blavity  reported that Von, born Dayvon Daquan Bennett, was a signed artist under Durks’ Only The Family label. He was shot and killed outside of a club in Atlanta.

  Wrestler/ Actor John Cena has declared his announcement from the world wrestling entertainment (WWE) which will include a farewell tour next year..  John disclosed this to fans during WWE "Money in the bank" event in Canada. Fans booed to express their dissatisfaction of the Actor's decision.   Pope Francis    has formally authorised Roman Catholic priests to bless same-sex couples, the Vatican announced Monday, in a significant shift in the church’s approach to LGBTQ+ people. On Monday,    Vatican's doctrine office released a statement which contains guidance and details the  declaration , which states, in part,  "When people ask for a blessing, an exhaustive moral analysis should not be placed as a precondition for conferring it.   Brazilian Gospel singer Pedro Henrique died onstage during a live performance on Wednesday.  According to  CNN Brazil  and  New York Post , the 30 year old Henrique was performing at a private event in Fiera de Santana, Bahia, a city in northeastern Brazil. when he collapsed. People who were present at the event quickly rushed Henrique to a nearby clinic, where he was declared dead. An official cause of death has not been disclosed, But according to reports by CNN and  TMZ , it's suspected that the singer suffered a heart attack.
